Birthday Gift #1 - Transformers

For years, I’ve wondered what happened to the “robot cartoons” I used to watch when I was still a kid.  In the age of comic superheroes being turned into a movie franchise, I’ve always wondered why nobody tried to make a movie out of the Transformers.

It was early this year, probably February or March, when I first saw the teasers for the Transformers movie.  And I confessed myself disappointed.  Even with their promise of great visual effects, the teasers failed to excite me, or even arouse my curiosity, at the very least.

Birth Month

For the past 27 years, I never looked forward to my birthdays, more so, my birthmonths. July, if anything, was always associated with misfortunes, tragedies, and, at the very least, extreme weather disturbances.

Who could ever forget that it was July of 1990 when a great earthquake literally and figuratively shook the country, claiming thousands of innocent lives and destroying millions worth of properties? Or that it was also July, a decade after that great earthquake, when a dump site, or a mountain of garbage more like, devoured the lives of hundreds of Payatas residents? Or that it is also July when the country entertains the most number of tropical storms or typhoons?

For me, there was nothing special about my birth month.

First Serving

I really wanted to start my own blog with a bang, and my first entry, controversial.  But being the mediocre and lamentable creative copywriter that I am, I ran out of crazy ideas to put here in the page.

For more than a year now, I’ve been dreaming of starting my page.  I’ve been thinking and planning about the concepts - the design, the general theme, the posts - that I would incorporate here.  But once I began to organize and reorganize my thoughts, I faced that familiar blank wall.
